Juvenile Justice Programs

Title II Grant Program
Funds used to establish community-based delinquency prevention and intervention projects to prevent at-risk children from entering the juvenile justice system.  To learn more click on the link above.

Title V Grant Program
Funds are designed to provide States the opportunity to fund delinquency prevention and early intervention programs for communities, provided that the applicant community is in compliance with JJDP Act Mandates.  To learn more click on the link above.

State Challenge Grant Program
Funds are to develop, adopt and improve policies and program in the juvenile justice system in the following specified Challenge Activities: alternatives to suspension and expulsion from school, status offender programs, system improvements, and aftercare.  To learn more click on the link above.

Juvenile Accountability Block Grant
Funds are to address the growing problem of juvenile crime by promoting greater accountability in the juvenile justice system.  To learn more click on the link above.

Enforcing The Under Age Drinking Laws Grant Program
Funds used to support and enhance efforts by the state to prohibit the sale of alcoholic beverages to, or the consumption of alcoholic beverages by, minors.  To learn more click on the link above.

Compliance Monitoring
The purpose of this programs is to monitor for compliance with State and Federal regulations under the JJDP Act of 1974 and State Juvenile Training Standards.  To learn more click on the link above.

Prevention Resource Officer Program
The PRO Program puts certified WV Police Officers who are also certified Prevention Resource Officers in local middle and high schools.  The officers maintain an office in the school, are in that one school 35-40 hours per week, attend extra curricular activities, facilitate classes on non-traditional educational topics; such as juvenile law, domestic violence, underage drinking, drug and alcohol prevention, and child abuse and neglect.  To learn more click on the link above.

Cabell County Juvenile Drug Court
The Juvenile Drug Court Diversion Program is located in Huntington and is operated by the Sixth Circuit Court of West Virginia.  The program seeks to divert non-violent juvenile offenders exhibiting alcohol or substance abuse behavior from the traditional juvenile court process to an intensive individualized treatment process.  To learn more click on the link above.
