The following links provide additional sources of information relating to criminal justice systems.


 

The U.S. Department of Justice
The Department offers funding opportunities to conduct research, to support law enforcement activities in state and local jurisdictions, to provide training and technical assistance, and to implement programs that improve the criminal justice system.

The U.S. Office of Justice Programs
Provides federal leadership in developing the nation's capacity to prevent and control crime, administer justice and assist crime victims.

National Criminal Justice Association
Provides information on emerging trends in criminal and juvenile justice, as well as federal fiscal and policy information and the latest on federal and private funding information.

National Criminal Justice Public Safety Continuing Education
Provides training and education courses to address public safety concerns.

National Archives of Criminal Justice Data
A branch of the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) at the University of Michigan.  NACJD acquires, archives, processes, and provides access to computer-readable criminal justice data collections for research and instruction. The NACJD website provides downloadable access to over 550 criminal justice data collections free of charge.

Grants.gov
Grants.gov allows organizations to electronically find and apply for competitive grant opportunities from all Federal grant-making agencies. Grants.gov is THE single access point for over 900 grant programs offered by the 26 Federal grant-making agencies.

WV Prevention Resource Center
The West Virginia Prevention Resource Center (WVPRC) works to build the capacity of individuals, organizations, and agencies to promote the well-being of their communities. The WVPRC does not provide direct service but instead provides training & technical assistance, communication & information sharing, and accountability & evaluation.

WV Chiefs of Police Association
To improve the law enforcement profession in the State of West Virginia and to promote cooperation and coordination between all law enforcement and police management areas through regular organizational meetings and dissemination of interest to accomplish these purpose.

Federal Law Enforcement Training Center
A Federal agency that offers tuition-free training to state and local law enforcement officers including serving as a conduit for specialized training.

Safe and Drug Free Schools - US Department of Education
View teaching aids, reports and research related to keeping schools safe and drug free.

The Library of Congress
Preserves a collection of more than 119 million items, more than two-thirds of which are in media other than books.  These include the largest map, film and television collections in the world.
